RESUMEN

This paper reports the results of a study on the implementation of a sustainable teaching model based on the OBE (Outcome-Based Education) concept and the TSEM (Teach, Study, Evaluate, and Manage) framework in computer science and technology at NingboTech University, China. In the context of digital education, the OBE concept and the TSEM framework are integrated to explore sustainable teaching and learning models based on "artificial intelligence and education”. Based on the core concept of engineering professional education accreditation, the course is designed by using the PCCM (Professional Competency Correlation Matrix) method to build a model based on big data analysis, deepen the classroom teaching reform of "artificial intelligence and education”, and explore the integrated digital sustainable teaching mode of "teaching, learning, evaluation, and management”. The aim of this study is to explore the effectiveness of the teaching model based on OBE and the TSEM framework on students' sustainable development. The results show that students deepen their learning in computer science while enhancing their own learning initiative, teamwork skills, innovation skills, and awareness of sustainable development. Research shows that our teaching model plays an important role in the development of student sustainable education, enhancing student engineering practice and innovation capabilities and cultivating applied innovative talents. The efficacy of the teaching model based on the OBE concept and the TSEM framework for improving students' competence in sustainable education warrants further investigation.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: At present, immune monotherapy and combination therapy has not shown satisfactory effects on acral melanoma, and still no standard treatment is available for advanced acral melanoma. Here, a phase II trial was performed to explore the safety and efficacy of apatinib combined with camrelizumab in advanced acral melanoma patients as first-line therapy (NCT03955354). METHODS: Patients with pathologically confirmed, locally unresectable or metastatic treatment native acral melanoma received 250 mg apatinib once daily and camrelizumab 200 mg once every two weeks intravenously every 28-day cycle. The primary end-point was objective response rate and the secondary end-points were disease control rate, overall survival, progression-free survival and safety. RESULTS: Thirty patients were recruited between January 2015 and January 2022. Among them, 21 (70.0%) had stage IV, and a median tumour burden was 50 mm (range: 11-187). Objective response rate was 24.1%, and 7 of 29 patients had an anti-tumour response, including partial response (n = 5) and complete response (n = 2). Disease control rate was 82.8%, median progression-free survival was 7.39 months (confidence interval: 3.65-9.92), and median overall survival was 13.4 months (confidence interval: 1.9-25.0). Grade 3-4 treatment-related toxicity (grade 3 50.5%; grade 4 3.3%) included transaminase elevations, proteinuria, leukocytopenia, vomiting, diarrhea and drug-induced liver injury. No treatment-related mortality occurred. The mutations of TTN, MUC16, VPS13D, ALPK2 and SCUBE1 showed significant alterations with survival outcome. CONCLUSIONS: Apatinib combined with camrelizumab showed manageable safety profile and reasonable anti-tumour activity in advanced acral melanoma patients as first-line therapy.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Melanoma brain metastasis is a common cause of death in melanoma patients and is associated with a poor prognosis. There are relatively few reports on intracranial infections after brain metastasis resection. CASE SUMMARY: Here we report a case of melanoma brain metastases in a patient harboring a BRAF V600E mutation, who experienced intracranial tumor progression despite previous combined treatment with a programmed death (PD)-1 inhibitor, axitinib, and vemurafenib. She repeatedly underwent local therapy, including stereotactic radiosurgery and intracranial surgery, and developed central nervous system infection. Treatment with vemurafenib combined with cobimetinib resulted in an intracranial progression-free survival of 10 mo. During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the patient did not visit the hospital for regular vemurafenib treatment, and experienced intracranial progression after involuntary drug reduction for 1 mo. The patient subsequently received various systemic treatments including vemurafenib, PD-1 inhibitor, and chemotherapy, with an overall survival of 29 mo as of September 2020. CONCLUSION: We report the first case of melanoma brain metastases with co-occurring intracranial infection and unintended drug reduction during the COVID-19 outbreak. Long-term control of the intracranial lesions was achieved with systemic and local therapies.

RESUMEN

The spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a global major public health event, threatening people's physical and mental health and even life safety. This study is to investigate the psychological abnormality in health care workers battling the COVID-19 epidemic and to explore the associations among social support, resilience and mental health. A total of 1521 health care workers, of whom 147 had public health emergency experience while 1374 showed no experience, completed the Symptom Check-List-90 (SCL-90), Chinese version of Connor-Davidson resilience scale (CD-RISC) and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS). χ2 test, t test and multiple regression analyses were used in statistical analysis. The results showed that people without public health emergency treatment experience showed worse performance in mental health, resilience and social support, and tended to suffer from psychological abnormality on interpersonal sensitivity and photic anxiety. This finding suggested that high levels of training and professional experience, resilience and social support were necessary to health care workers who are first taking part in public health emergence.
